Hi Guys,

I work in Logic and got LOTS OF UNFINISHED PROJECTS that run realguitar 2L.

So my question is:
Will my old projects (the ones that were made with realguitar 2L) still sound EXACTELY THE SAME after the upgrade to realguitar 3.

And does the realguitar 2L-Version still appear in my plugins-folder after the upgrade or will it be replaced by realGuitar 3L?

Please answer soon as LOTS OF PEOPLE ARE INTERESTED IN THIS!

Thanks in Advance,
C.S.

Please answer this question, guys!

It is very IMPORTANT, because right now the plugins name is NOT just "RealGuitar" but "RealGuitar 2L".

So if the "2L"-PlugIn will be REPLACED by the NEW PlugIn it's NEW name will shurely NOT be "RealGuitar "2L" anymore but "RealGuitar 3" or just "RealGuitar". ==> SO HOW WILL MY OLD LOGIC PROJECTS KNOW that the "RealGuitar 2L"-PlugIn has to bei replaced by a plugIn called "RealGuitar 3" or "RealGuitar 3"?

The only way to avoid this problem is to NOT delete the "2L"-named PlugIn, but ADD the RealGuitar 3-PlugIn instead. So that BOTH Versions are available.

Please answer soon, as from discussions I know that LOTS OF MORE PEOPLE would buy the software if this was clearly stated somewhere.

Kind regards,
C.S.

CrazySuperstar,

All our guitars updated to v.3 should load and work fine within older projects that used previous versions (all settings are compatible). The new external name of the plugin doesn't matter.

Regards,
Sergey

But if the upgrade "DELETES" the plugin called "realGuitar 2L" and replaces it with a plugin called "realguitar 3" (or just "realguitar"), how does logic know that??

When opening one of my OLD projects which used the plugin-version called "realguitar 2L" logic will STILL try to load a plugin called "realguitar 2L.

So again my question:
Will realguitar 3 delete the old Vst/AU-File called "real guitar 2L".

Please answer soon.

CrazySuperstar,

Logic uses internal ID of plugin, it doesn't use plugin's external name (RealGuitar 2L or RealGuitar 3) to load it. RealGuitar 2L and RealGuitar 3 both have the same internal ID. That means when you install RealGuitar 3 and try to load your project created with RealGuitar 2L, Logic will automatically load RealGuitar 3 with all settings from RealGuitar 2L you saved in your project. That's the most important compatibility feature of any plugin to open projects created with previous versions.

Hello!

What about Real Guitar 4?

Right now I own RealGuitar 2L + RealStrat + ReaLPC and have A LOT OF UNFINISHED PROJECTS!

Now I want to upgrade all of them to Version 4 of RalGuitar/RealStrat/RealLPC.

Can you confirm that my OLD PROJECTS WILL STILL SOUND EXACTELY THE SAME AS BEFORE after upgrading to version 4?

Is your above answer (which refers to version 3 of your plugin) also valid for version 4 of your plugins? Will my Songs sound EXACTELY THE SAME?

PLEASE ANSWER SOON!!!

I updated all RG;RS;RLP and found no changes in Sound for I think they didn´t change the Soundlibrary only things like Songeditor or Humanize are added.
I am working in Logic 10.3.1

CrazySuperstar,

RealStrat/LPC projects should work fine with new versions.

As for RealGuitar:

v.2 -> v.3 updrade - fully compatible
v.3 -> v.4 updrade - fully compatible.

v.2->v.4 updrade - should work fine, nobody had a problem.
But you can d/l the Trial version and check that by yourself.
/Note that you will need to uninstall your previous version/

Regards,
Sergey
