Song Mode chord only plays fret noise

I just got Real guitar - first attempt at doing something in song mode.
when I choose a chord from the wheel to put on the timeline I can hear the chord just fine but . . .

when I play it back with my host DAW (studio one 3.5) all I hear is fret noise - no chord

what am I missing? something simple?

jgleckler,

1. You didn't drag any pattern to pattern track (the one below chord track), but started your DAW - so nothing to playback.

2. To audition selected pattern itself with your chord sequence click Pattern view small window to activate it, start the DAW , or press Play Pattern button at the left of Pattern view on Stop mode of your DAW.

3. To audition single chords inserted in chord track without pattern playback, activate speaker button in the lower part, and start your DAW, or simply press Play Song button.
