I tried to play Real Guitar in Studio One using the game controller from guitar hero but it doesn't work. Using another DAW, e.g. Sonar X2, it works quite well. The connection between the controller and the plugin is ok, as I can see the colored dots when I push the respective buttons on the controller. No midi data can be received although the live input button is depressed and lightning.

Any help or hints are greatly appreciated.

linoth,

You must set MIDI input to OMNI for RealGuitar MIDI track in Studio One (don't know if it is possibe)
Sonar has that option so guitar controller works OK

Hope that helps

Regards,
Sergey

Hi Sergey,

midi omni input option was set.
In order to check whether the game controller VST is sending any
midi data I checked with a midi monitor. But no midi events are there. I think something may prevent the plugin from sending midi data. I tried every option in the VST settings but with no success.
Thanks for your help

Hi Sergey,

I have to correct myself. Using midiox I checked that indeed the plugin sends midi data to the daw. But, unfortunately, the daw will not accecpt it.
I appreciate your support, thank you very much.

Hi Sergey,

I connected the game controller to an internal device using the midi connection center and now it works.

Just read your post.

I am new on the Forum and will be purchasing the full Real Guitar software as soon as I know I can use one of the Struminators from Guitar hero with it.

Do you know where I can get the Stuminator from please. I use WIN 7 with Cubase.

vivacook,

Google on the net:

Guitar Hero 4, or 5 for Sony Playstation 3, or for PC/Mac models
Should be bundled with its native USB receiver/dongle
/No game console and game disc needed/

Regards,
Sergey
