Apparently MOLCP wil not work with SP2.
I just need something that will send midi from my main computer running Cubase SX2 to drive VSTi' s on my second computer.
I dont want SystemLink or FXTeleport. They send the audio from the VSTi back over the LAN to be output from the first computers soundcard. I want the audio to just come out of the same machine that the VSTi are on. |

I have been able to get MOL CP demo v1.0 (the one that came with GS3) to work under SP2. Here's the setup.
Firstly, on both ends, I specify the IP addresses. Now, on the Giga end, I find I have to toggle the "Recognize events only from port ..." and Apply, to get that end to route midi to GS3. So far, this has worked every time after a number of restarts.
After a restart and before I toggle "Recognize events only from port ..." I do see midi coming into the GS3 PC by looking at the Local Area Network Status window. It just doesn't get to GS3 until you give MOL CP a "kick. I would be interested in knowing if this works for others.
The old MOL+ had the option of not setting absolute IP addresses but rather using computer names. Absolute IP addressing is problematic since they can change on restart if your network is set up with DHCP. I wonder if you can configure MOL CP to use "friendly" names? |

If you want to keep your firewall active simply make an exception for MOL in the firewall control panel. |
