Hello!
I just reinstalled everything on my computer
just to wipe out useless programs etc etc.
And after installing all new drivers etc etc
I reinstalled RG
everything works fine
but when playing chords
the error comes in.
for example:
Holding down G C E makes a E7 chord?
this is just an example
but I can't play any chords with it as of now.
What happend? |

Is this resolved yet?
After updating to 1.5, I'm having the same problem... Playing 'C' gives me G7 and if I play different inversion getting 'E7' or 'B7', whats up with this??
My workflow is greatly affected.... thinking of going back to 1.0 |

I am having same problem as well, suddenly all major chords are playing as 7th ?
Looks like there are some stuck notes which is causing this, 'reset'ting is not helping. I see 7 green dots on some chords... There is something definitly wrong with 1.5 update. Have to fiddle around little more to find what is causing this...
Any help from Musiclab will be appreciated.
Thanks,
Phil. |

It is very sad to see MusicLab is not responding at all to this problem.
I though it was only me, when I upgrade to 1.5 had this problem. Initially I though it was my keyboard not sending correct notes, then tried entering chords directly on my SONAR. Same problem..... it was playing all weird chords.... got fed up and went back to Virtual Guitarist to finish my project. Due to my tight project schedule I never had a time to complain before.
Now that I'm done with my project, I've got some time to play around. I tried uninstalling, reinstalling few times..... nothing helping. So came here to the forum to complain.... wheeeeewwww and found few people already having the same problem. Finally I thought I was all alone on this one.... guess not... .
But we want some resolution on this....
We want answer from MusicLab....
you don't want to loose your customer base like this.
Please respond. |

Could you guys post your system specs, including processor, RAM, soundcard and keyboard controllers?
I'm not trying to make light of the problems you're experiencing, as I'm sure they're quite frustrating, but I'm genuinly curious of why RG is working on some systems and not others.
WinXP pro (no SP's)
P42GIG
1GIG RAM
RME Multiface
Kurz 2600 for controller

I just used RG 1.5, and have had a similar experience, i.e. if i play a c note on the yeyboard and hit another note on the keyboard too fast after, instead of playing a basic open chord it will play aminor or a seventh.
P4 3.06Ghz
2 x 7200 rpm hard drives
1 GIG ram
I have faith in musiclab folks to get this sorted.
Thanks

Does this happen even after adjusting the chord detect time in the setup window?

Phil,
I have virtually tried every option (adjusting the chord detect time and etc., plus lot more...), still the same story. Tried running their supplied Demo songs (the ones same as their online video demos), they all are displaying the wrong chords. for some strange reason there is an extra note getting played into every chords you play. Basically every single chords are becoming either seventh or some add ons.
very frustrating.... I felt like a 'looser' going back to Virtual Guitarist.
My spec -
WinXP
P4 2.4 Gig
512 MB RAM
Kurz K2VX as controller |

Steve,

1. Does 1-note chord (one key pressed) also becomes seventh?
2. Does that happen from the very first chord pressed after launching RG?

1. What is 'yeyboard' ?
2. Does that also happen when you hit another note not fast after?
To all:
As we posted earlier, please email the chord problem with details to: supportbox@musiclab.com. Don't forget to include your serial#.

Hi Sergey
Keyboard = M-Audio Radium 61
I noticed that if I keep eg a D (in chords) depresed then touch another chord key (eg G) then it plays a variation to the D chord (additional notes, but keeps the root. I thought this was a cool intentional feature...but I am V new to Real Guitar ... 2 days, so maybe it's not. I must remember to register it tonight. Also must download the Pattern Library for RG (having already purchased the RnC library in full with RnC Pro).
ps I think your software is absolutely fantastic.
cheers

Sergey,
If I leave a little gap before hitting a new chord, then it does play correctly.
I use Sonar 3PE 3.1.1
Audiophile 2496 with ASIO
I have tried RG in Standalone and in Sonar...I get the same results.
I believe there is a new driver out there for the Radium 61 keyboard.
Although mine has never has a problem playing extremely fast note sequences from NNXT, Konkat, VSampler NN19 etc samplers.
Maybe this is a driver problem. Unfortunately I don't get enough time to research all this stuff.
Hope this helps somewhat
Thanks

Spencer,
Note that when you play a note legato to the previous (i.e. play next while previous is held) in the Main (Chord) zone - RealGuitar considers your chord played with both keys pressed. That's the necessary feature
for entering chords with RG.
If that bother you try to release the chord/note shortly before playing the next one (think that will need not so much practice)

Hi Sergey, thanks for responding .
1. Does 1-note chord (one key pressed) also becomes seventh?
NO - 1 note chords always plays the correct chords,... this way I can only play Major Chords, there is no way to play minor chords or anything else.
ie: If I play a 'C' minor (C Eb G) chord, it is playing Gm7 ??
After messing around for a while in RG, I found a pattern or similarity between the problem.... when you play a chord with 3 fingers ie: CEG it always ignoring the root note (in this case 'C') and trying to play a seventh or an extra chord which involves 1 semitone lower or higher than the root note. But not consistent though... most of the time it is.
If I play EGC (C chord different inversion), get E7.
2. Does that happen from the very first chord pressed after launching RG?
YES - |
