I have CnR pro running in Sonar3.1. Other than better GTR sounds in RealGtr, what is the difference between the two program plugins?
Does RG operate the same way CnR does as far as writing chord charts and such? |

1. Rhythm'n'Chords has no guitar sounds at all - it is a MIDI FX plug-in for Cakewalk and can be used only with Cakewalk/Sonar sequencers.
2. RealGuitar has (besides of the unique multi- sample architecture) a lot of automated guitar performance articulations, sounds, and noises (harmonics, mutes, fret noise, release noise, etc), and also a number of key switch and velocity switch guitar effects.
3. You cannot play solo guitar part with Rhythm'n'Chords
4. RealGuitar can be used with any host sequencer supporting DXi, VSTi and RTAS.
5. The only thing that is common now for both apps is the possibility to use MIDI rhythm pattern for automatically creating guitar accompaniment parts.

Hello,
I have both, and there's no comparison. You should get Real Guitar if you want some serious guitar playing in your songs. I can't believe how real it sounds. And this prog just keeps getting better.
See ya, Rockitglider |
