Should GarageDrummer code be released to allow hacking and a new lease of life?

Firstly, thanks for GarageDrummer - I picked up a second hand set of RockBand drums, installed GD and made my 8-year old delighted on his birthday recently!

Sadly, the inevitable evolution of the OS and GarageBand itself seems to have strained the GD codebase.
I've experienced regular hangs in GarageBand when changing instruments, and it's a real shame that the other buttons (D-pad, Playstation button etc) aren't also mappable - perhaps to change kit layouts?

I wonder if there are any plans to update GarageDrummer, or alternatively to release the code for others to hack upon?

Again, please don't take this as a whine - I'm delighted you took the time to scratch an itch I didn't know I had. The joy in letting a wee boy rock out as loud as he likes without the neighbours complaining is precious indeed.

Cheers
