Can I download the RealGuitar demos onto a removable drive so that I can play them on an other computer that doesn't have internet access? |

Stupid Question #2
How do I do that?
I have a USB mini hard drive thing which holds 256MB. When I try to record to a removable device from Realplayer I get an error message although it doesn't tell me what the error is.
Is there an easier way to tranfer these files?
Thanks |

rguagenti,
Download demos with 'save as' to save them to your hard disk as *.avi files and them move to your removable device.

The demos don't downlad as such they automatically go to RealPlayer. |

rguagenti,
Right click on disk icon of a demo song and select 'Save target as' from popup menu.
Hope that helps

Okay I got the files on my computer but when I try to play the avi files in Media Player I get an error message"Unable to download an appropriate decompressor".
After going onto the microsoft site(http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;278947&Product=wmp), they are telling me that I need to get the codecs(whatever?!) from you so that I can install it on my computer and play back the file.
Can you do this for me?
Thanks. |

Hello, rguagenti
Are you using Media Player 9? If so, see this link . . .
http://www.updatexp.com/codec-for-windows-media-player-9.html
Some information on codecs as well as links to places you can get them.
Another common codec download can be found here . . .
http://www.divx.com/divx/?src=toptab_divx_from_/index.php
. . . half way down the page, called "Standard DivX codec (FREE)"
This one also comes with a player, which you have the option to install or not. I've never used the player.
I don't believe this is something Sergey can do for you, due to the large number of computer configurations and versions of Media Player.
Perhaps I'm wrong, and hopefully some computer whiz will step in here with their infinite wisdom and help better than I can!
Also, if you want Media Player to open all video files ( except .mov, and .rm) you may want to go into Real Player's preference options and deselect all file types that you don't want associated with Real Player, like .mpg, mpeg, .wmv, .avi . . .etc. Just a thought! Best of luck!
Cheers,
Phil |
