I've been digging through this forum and have found a lot of helpful information but nothing yet that solves my problem.
I have a Mac Pro Quad running the latest version of MOL, which is connected to about a dozen Mac minis and 6 PCs, all running the most current versions. 2 of those 6 PCs, however, do not receive any transmitted signal from the Mac Pro.
The other 4 PCs, which do receive signal, are all Dell towers. These 2 PCs that do not receive signal are Shuttle XPCs.
The 2 delinquent PCs are also on their own license, separate from the other computers, though I doubt that has anything to do with it since these PCs have no trouble transmitting signal, which I have figured out using the handy "Test" button on the MOL control panel. There are also no license violation messages.
***Something particularly troubling is that the 2 delinquent PCs do not show ANY computers in the "Source Computer Name" menu, while all the other PCs show the whole network.*** I have no idea why this is. I have also tried unchecking both the "Source Computer Name" and "Source MolCp3Port" boxes on these two PCs under "MIDI IN", then restarting, etc., but this doesn't seem to work either.
I have checked all firewalls -- all firewalls are off. All computers can connect to the internet properly, and have manually entered DHCP information. In "My Network Places" for both of these misbehaving PCs, all the other PCs are visible in the appropriate network. These 2 PCs are also visible by the other PCs in the network. I have also tried renaming the network and putting all the PCs in that newly named network. Still, nothing.
I have uninstalled MOL CP and then deleted all traces in the Windows registry, and then reinstalled. This does not work either.
Sorry, this is a lot of information of what I've tried already. Just want to save anyone the trouble of suggesting something that's already been attempted.
Is there something I've missed? Some way to get that "Source Computer Name" menu filled with names instead of being blank? Some weird reason why the 2 not-right PCs are transmitting but not receiving? I'm pretty much out of ideas and would very much appreciate any help.
Many thanks. |

I have the identical problem. 3 of my PC's work, 1 doesn't. Same thing, it doesn't see the Mac name either. It also can send to the Mac. I've done all the same trouble shooting as well. |

Go into the mac and delete the com.musiclab.molcp3.ctrlpanel.plist from your user/lib/prefs. This should fix the problem. |
