Great job! Did you do the vocal too? Gosh I wish I could sing even just a little bit as I would love to add vocals to my songs. Keep it up! |

I would put in a cello at see the darken tree ... but that's just me.
I am at work listening to it on some crappy speakers. So if you do have some in there forget about what I said.
The main electric guitar melody is jarring the first time you hear it after the intro.
Apart from that I've listened to it about 4 time now... I love the chorus.
Great Song.
P.S. I see you over at the rayzoon forum, it that Jamstix 2?
I have it but I haven't bought Realstrat yet...no need to convince me...It's in my future it just doesn't know it yet.
Also any song with the word Serenity in it has to rock... Firefly forever.

There are some sort of violins there (starting after 4 bars in the bridge).
Er... don't know the word 'jarring': please enlighten me (English is not my native language).
Yes, that JS2! JS2 rocks! |

Excellent use of Real Strat. Nice song, too! Would you be will to share how you get the guitar sounds? What type of amp settings?
Thanks! _________________ Matt

I use Guitar Rig 2: as soon as I have loaded RS, I add GR2 in the effect bin. Usually I simply pick a preset I like (for the specific song) and only edit little things like pan (a lot of presets have some sort of stereo effect build in, which I usually have to adjust) and tempo (if something with a tempo is used, like a delay). After that I may add some reverb or delay, just what is needed for the mix. That's it. (Well, it IS simple, but it may take some time before I find the preset I need!) What I never do is build a preset from scratch. I might add a module every now and then to try something (if I need some sort of stereo effect and it isn't in the preset), but usually I try to keep it as simple as possible.
If you would like to know exactly which presets I used, I will have to open the project and look that up (I'm not behind my DAW right now). |
