ah, well: way cool
PS: how do you bend that lower note up without also bending the note on top ? (by velocity switches or aftertouch ?) _________________ Cosmic Dreamer on iTunes - http://itun.es/i6D89V7 |

I took the time to analyze this point several weeks ago, AND there are no facts to support your idea. Rest assured!!!
LPC IS IN TUNE!

Agreed. LPC is in tune.
Never heard anyone suggest otherwise (except for a couple people on this forum...who seem to always pop their heads in to say "LPC is out tune" whenever LPC is discussed).
The thread over at Prominy was started as a result of comments made on this forum...and other than that, there's been absolutely no discussion of tuning issues with LPC (which is odd considering LPC is used by a whole ton of musicians, including professionals of whom I assume at least ONE would complain if the product was out of tune). |

Just forget I said anything. It's my curse to have ears that can't stand things even a few cents sharp or flat. My problem. I won't post anything again about LPC. |

Me too...Except pitchwheel bends. I never bend up to a perfect note (or if I do it's accidental), especially if I'm gonna ring another string with the same note along with it (as in a unison bend)...I like that harmonics noise you get when it's not quite perfect. Maybe it's just my weird ear though. |

I don't see it as a curse. Just the opposite. Your input is highly estimated, for sure by me.
All this contrast stuff is helping to have a more clearer perspective. So it's great. All has value. Just depends how you look at it.

THe question is if +/-10 cent wouldn't add a little bit soul to some music
if the singer of vaya condios always sang on the cent, she wouldn't be able to create that 'vaya condios" atmosphere which is so typical. _________________ Cosmic Dreamer on iTunes - http://itun.es/i6D89V7 |

I confirm, I had SOME problems with the legato patches of LPC ... it was out of tune. Not all the library ! |

Please see the scientific explantion for that in the LPC forum!
There are one or two postings explaining the whole thing in detail!
RealStrat is super. LPC is super. Both are great.

A excellent example but let's say that every single time the singer sang a C or A it was out of tune. Consistently repeating over and over again. Would that bother anyone? |

yeah, i know a sample that's out of tune will stay out of tune but thats easily fixed in kontakt2 no ?
COuld you not also tune each individual snare in RS ? (tthink i read that somewhere) _________________ Cosmic Dreamer on iTunes - http://itun.es/i6D89V7 |

You could, but remember there are many layers so each one at every switching point for velocities would have to be checked and tuned. Also, if it's legato and falls out of tune after a second or so, you'd have to edit that part of the sample-for the velocity-for the note, tune it, create it as one sample again and 'overwrite' back into the program. |
