I read in the manual that slow strum speed can be controlled via midi cc#120(slow zone for pattern mode or something like that).

When I insert this CC into a sequenc, the name it reports is "no sounds" or something similar--not Slow zone as mentioned in the manual's midi cc chart.

How do I best control the speed of a slow strum? Do I need to use the velocity FX "slow strum on higher velo", parking the threshold in a high position like 127 so it won't trigger, then set the velo threshold lower for the chord I want to trigger, then reset it high again to disable it?

Or, can I forget about using the velocity FX, and use a midi CC# to set the slow strum speed at the beginning of a sequence which will set the speed for all slow strum pattern strokes.

hope this makes sense.

You might be better off using CC#56 to control the 'Strum Time'.

CC#56 controls the 'Strum Time' slider (right of the HOLD button).

I hear a slight effect using CC#120. But You have to be in Pattern Manager with a pattern running.

CC#56 is more effective for me.

Maybe someone else will have more info on CC#120.

Yes, but strum speed controls the strum speed for all strums, not just slow strums. I use the strum speed to sprawl out chords a bit in slow bpm tunes. What I really want to do, and I know there is a way, is to independantly control the speed of slow strums from that of regular strum strokes.
