I've just started using DTPD inside Cubase SL. I could not hear any sound when I was selecting the window containing DTPD.

The "release asio driver in background" option in devices/devices setup../VST Multitrack was ticked. I unticked it and now it works fine.

I read that this box should be ticked in order to let other applications playback while Cubase is in use.

Im just wondering why in my system it works the other way around...
Am I doing things right?

cece,

While running in a host (Cubase in your case) DT uses host's audio output.

Regards,
Sergey
