Hey All,
Just got the RealStrat and am figuring it all out.
Anyone know why I am getting so much latency in Sonar 7 ?
New Computer: 2ghz dual core, 2 meg.
Thanks,

Well there's your problem. 2 meg is nothing nowadays. You'll have to get at least a gig.
Do you know Sonar/DAWs etc...? Hopefuly you've set your audio options to asio and set the latency down to 5-7ms or less if you have a decent soundcard. Sorry if that's obvious and you've checked. |

LOL, I strongly suspect you meant 2 GB RAM, not 2 MB. In any case, latency can indeed be a product of your audio card or even reflect MIDI latency between your MIDI controller/keyboard and your computer. But you haven't told us anything about either device so we can't be more specific until you do. |

I just upped my ram to 2 GB .....thanks
Midi controller: PC88 mx
Audio card: Delta 44, latency is set to 256 samples under DMA buffer size
I've been using this setup for a while. No latency with any other soft synths. The 24 bit Bardstown Bosendorfer runs smoothly using dfd. ...there must be a setting somewhere that needs to be changed, possibly in the RealStrat software?
Thanks all for such quick responses !
PS: I've been using Cakewalk since the DOS days. Yes, I'm an old dog from the 70's...in and out of this thing over the years.

Just a note....
The Sonar mixing latency was set way too high, at 98.
I moved down to 5.8ms. Problem cured.....
Thanks Guys! |
