Guitar not waking up when I press Play

I am using the Classic guitar and the Strat, both in song mode. Most of the time, everything works fine. However, sometimes when I press Play in the DAW, the guitar tracks don't respond, that is, they don't play. All I have to do generally is to just click on the Guitar windows as if I was going to edit, and then the next time I press Play they respond normally. I have also tried pressing the Stop button in the transport control to wake them up.

This happens perhaps 25% of the time in a complex project with lots of other instruments; I am editing something else, and haven't touched the guitar windows, and suddenly they aren't playing. I find them and click on them to activate them and then they respond. This happens often enough to be a real nuisance.

So is it possible that there is a setting that would make this work better? Has anyone else experienced this? Are there updates to these products I may not have applied? I have looked over the settings of the instruments, and I don't see anything to try.

This has been happening for some time. I am using Mixcraft Pro Studio 9, Build 3470, Windows 10 Pro.
