|
|
|
Open the Real Guitar steel string stand alone software.
Use my midi controller in the chords setting.
OK so far so good.
I start strumming my new song. Great it sounds just like I'm strumming my guitar and writing down the lyrics. Cool.
Now the problem. Saving that strumming to a midi file.
I don't see a way.
If I open my daw and do the same thing.
Now I have it as a midi file. But...
The midi file is only the single trigger notes not the chords.
Is there any way to get the full chords into a midi file?
I can't come up with any way. Can someone help me here.
I need those chords written to a midi file.
I hope this question isn't too confusing. I tried to be clear as to what I'm after. _________________ Mac MacBook Pro 15 in. OS X 10.11.6, Mid 2012

uncle808us,
RealGuitar has MIDI Out option (Setup panel->Output mode) allowing to record RealGuitar performance as processed MIDI on another MIDI track of the DAW.
As I understand you use Logic. Unfortunately Logic doesn't support MIDI Out from AU instrument.

Ok I tried that but it is only recording the single notes defining the chords not the full chords to the new mini out track. What am I doing wrong? Or am I mis understanding your answer?

uncle808us,
Did you set Output mode to MIDI or Both (RealGuitar Setup panel (left menu bar))? And select RealGuitar as the input for new MIDI track?
Also I don't know if your Multitrack Studio supports MIDI out from AU/VST instrument. Please refer to its Manual.

I'm not sure you understand what I'm trying to do.
I don't want another instance of Real Guitar.
I want the chords that are played by Real Guitar to be recorded on another midi track.
Example: When I hit the C key in Real Guitar in Chord mode I want the chord notes C,E,G etc to be written in another midi track so the midi chord track can be sent and played by someone who does not have Real Guitar.
I truly am trying to be clear here. Thanks for taking the time. _________________ Mac MacBook Pro 15 in. OS X 10.11.6, Mid 2012
