hi,

will this vst instrument be able to generate dry guitar sounds, that is the dry signal of an electric guitar that you usually plug into an amplifier? This could be very usefull in combination with one of the numerous amp simulations existing today.

thanks, kloewie.

kloewie,

Of course, RealGuitar will generate dry (clean) electric guitar sounds as well as processed (but not version 1.0 that will have only acoustic guitars).

Regards,
Sergey

thanks for you quick reply.

Just to be clear, to me clean guitar is still amplified just not overdriven or distorted. What I mean is the dry signal directly recorded from the plug, which is very different. Will these additions/updates be added often? (ones a month, twice a month,...) When can I expect the dry signal to be available?

regards, Kloewie.

kloewie,

I understand now what you mean by dry sound.

Of course we can record dry el. guitar sound and release the special sample set, but I don't see the need in this for our users.
Anyway we'll think about that.

As to the updates: we are planning to release additional guitars sets once a month or two.

Regards,
Sergey

Dry, non-amplified electric guitar would be _hugely_ useful for me in my setup. The ability to have absolute control over the amplification, eq, effects, and cabinet signal path would be the killer application for this product. Why re-invent the wheel when there are already several good to excellent signal chain packages out there?

Does anyone else concur?

Rather than dry perhaps direct?
I too am struggling with the amount of ambience on RealEight and can't seem to find any info on this.

Lmitchell1,

There is no reverb in RealEight.
Samples were recorded directly from pickups.
You maybe mean the Release Noise automatically triggered on note-off. If so go to Mixer/Noises panel (right menu bar) and diminish or disable Release Noise sound.

Regards,
Sergey
