Hi everyone,
I am a bass player looking at RLPC, RS and RG. I am learning about midi and was wondering how hard this product is to use? I am just scratching the surface of midi and I guess don't want to get over my head....lol. It looks easy by watching the videos and does the CD help?
Thanks,
Rick

Rick,

Our Real* series cover wide range of user experience - from newbies to professionals. Depends on you: more you learn - better are the results Smile

The tutorials are of great help to start (RealGuitar Basics, RealStrat video tutorials).

Jeff Abbott's free RealGuitar/RealStrat video tutorial as well:

You can d/l demo versions to have a close look

Regards,
Sergey

I guess it would depend on how you will use music lab's software. There some people who use the software with midi's for live performance, others who may or may not use external midi devices at all for studio settings and recordings. Being an old and ex-guitar player my self, I rarely use external midi devices and enter in my guitar tracks with a mouse on to fl-studio.

Like any decent music software there is a bit of a learning curve to music lab's software, specially if you are aiming to make your virtual instrument sound like it's coming from a "real" person playing the guitar, and not just someone punching out notes from a keyboard. And in my opinion, this is where the real "style" comes in, with slides, bends, palm mutes, muffle sounds, harmonic, and the occasional feedback, dead fret, and other guitar sounds all of which music lab's software is capable of doing with the right settings.

In my opinion music lab's vsti guitar software is some of the most realistic guitar sounds I have used. I've placed a few videos on youtube with different song covers and no one has yet to realize the guitar tracks were anything but the real deal.
