The basis of our plug-in is a simple idea of separately assigning chords and creating a rhythm pattern for playing them.

The chords are assigned in a special Chord Chart view, closely emulating traditional chord assignments for real guitar players. Chords can be entered using either standard chord symbols (67 chord types and extensions are organized in a hierarchical menu) or by assigning certain notes from a virtual piano keyboard. You also can drag and drop MIDI tracks from Cakewalk.

The principle of separate chord/rhythm assignments allowed us to organize rhythm pattern libraries for various guitar styles. All you need do to create an accompanying guitar part is select the rhythm pattern you prefer, having previously assigned a chord scheme in the Chord Chart view.

The resulting rhythm/chord part is controlled by several groups of performance parameters:

  • Velocity (the balance between chord voices, depending on the type/strength of a stroke).
  • Arpeggiation (the time between the first and last notes of a chord, depending on the type/strength of a stroke).
  • Voice control (the number of voices for various stroke types; settings for automatic chord voice constructing and smooth transition between chords; automatic voice hold options for more precise emulation of guitar strumming).
Using these parameters, any musician, even the most demanding professional, can achieve extremely high quality sound that closely resembles authentic guitar tracks.
