for RG and RS.

being:

a MODE SWITCH that simply restricts ones input of data to only one of the six strings, that are chosen via MIDI channel, i.e: 1-6 (1=E hi, thru to 6 lo).

this would be very helpful, especially in solo mode.

thanks,

david.

agreed... if possible you could have pitch bend data for individual strings as well... with the advent of Melodyne DNA analyzing of pitch curves of individual strings has become easier and become clear that each string seems to bend slightly when strummed.

I had this same idea so I could accurately control notes on the fretboard. would be interesting in conjunction with the custom chord idea put forward by several people on here.

(I was going to start a new topic, but I saw this one, which is closely related Wink )...

Would it be possible to implement reception of polyphonic aftertouch, please?
I use this technique in, say, Kontakt and MachFive, and it really is great for bending individual notes. I really wish I could do the same in the MusicLab guitars too Wink.
No change would be needed to the GUI.. there are many virtual instruments that, according to the GUI, respond, simply, to "aftertouch", but are in fact smart enough to recognize polyphonic aftertouch when received, and respond accordingly (all the Arturia instruments, for example. Some other developers prefer a separate parameter for poly aftertouch, but I don't see the need for that here.. just a "smart" aftertouch Wink )
Even if the user doesn't actually have a keyboard which generates poly aftertouch, it can still be edited manually in most hosts, and, in Cubase 6, the new "Note Expression" does the job very easily.. even with plugins that are not "VST3.5-ready".

vic_france,

It's possible in current version with a small trick emulating poly controller:

- use sustain pedal to sustain the released key(s) you don't want to be affected by Aftertouch (or Mod Wheel, or Pitch Bend). In that case only actually pressed key/note will be affected.

Regards,
Sergey

HI Sergey,
thanks for the reply Smile
The first problem I encounter with the method you describe (but maybe you can explain how to get around it Wink ), is that while holding a note that is bent (i.e. channel aftertouch is still pressed), I cannot add any new note without that new note being bent also. I have tried all combinations of when to press or release the sustain pedal! Smile. And, of course, if I release the note that is bent, but still keeping the sustain pedal down, the note does sustain, but returns to its "normal" pitch.
(sorry to keep on about it, but with polyphonic aftertouch, all I have to do is play, and not even worry about it! Wink )

But I have to say, (credit where it is due Wink ), that for arpeggio-style playing, the method you describe is indeed a very close second-best to real polyphonic aftertouch (so long as you keep the sustain pedal held almost all the time, and play staccato apart from the note you wish to bend, and don't play any new note while aftertouch is still pressed).
