Hi all,
I'm still taking baby steps with RealStrat, trying to figure out how to to things as the need arises. I can see how mutes work, but they create a very short muted note. The effect I'm looking for is a damped string, the longer sustained sound you get when you gently press the heel of your right hand across the strings close to the bridge. The best example of the sound I mean is the guitar intro riff in "Every breath you take" by Sting.
Any advice much appreciated. Thanks

Geoff,
This is a Bridge Mute sound you are looking for (Palm Mute - another name for this damping technique).
RealStrat has BridgeMute sound in Solo mode among Velocity/Key/Pedal switch FXs, as well as a permanent FX sound that you can select directly in the main FX box menu.
Note, BridgeMute sound additionally has time parameter (slider), allowing you to reduce the decay time up to very short sound

Thanks Sergey. I'm in hospital at the moment, so I can't try it out for a few days. Would you please tell me the maximum decay length.
Thanks,

Geoff,
Maximum (100%) is the real Stratocaster bridge muted sound sampled, the length depends on string/fret you play (up to 25-30 sec. for 6th string, open
Keep well!
