Hello -
I've been spending more time, lately, getting to know RealStrat (and LogicPro 8 ) lately. I'm really happy to have upgraded to both RealStrat and LogicPro 8. So far, both same to be working well with eachother.
At present, I'm exploring RealStrat's capabilities with automation with LogicPro 8. When the plug-in is activated and the automation is activated to record plug-in changes (latch, write mode, etc.), it seems that Logic 8 is unable to "remember" parameter changes when I attempt to make them via the plug-in. For example, when in chord position, when I want to change from position 1 to position 3, the automation doesn't "remember" the change when I click on position 3 of the RealStrat plug-in during sequencing. HOWEVER (and this is a big however), the automated change from chord position 1 to position 3 works just fine if I manually make the change within the Logic 8 Program within hyperdraw. It seems that I have a LOT of automation control between RealStrat and Logic 8 when manually making parameter changes (of almost any kind!!) within hyperdraw. Still, it would be nice (and quicker) to make those changes when clicking on a parameter (for example, chord position 1 to chord posittion 3) within the RealStrat plug-in itself. It seems that I am able to do this with the other plug-ins (especially the Apple plug-ins). Know that the "Link" icon is activated for all of this.
So. . . here are my questions.
Is RealStrat set-up to be able to make parameter changes with sequencers from within the plug-in itself? If so, is there a known bug-issue between RealStrat and LogicPro 8? Finally, is there a way to assign a midi control number to each of RealStrat's parameters so that changes can be made using a midi-controller like M-Audio's Keystation Pro 88? So far, I haven't been able to do this with RealStrat. (For example, with Kontakt 2 plug-in changes can be made by assigning a midi-control number to any of its parameters - volume, panning, etc).
Here's my set-up: MacPro tower 2.66, 5 GB Ram, 3 HD's (one dedicated to sound libraries), Mac OS X 10.4.10, MOTU's 2408 MK3, MOTU's MTPAV, M-Audio's Keystatons Pro 88 (midi-keyboard controller) Logic Pro Studio, RealStrat, RealGuitar, MIDIoverLAN CP 3, and a whole bunch of software sound libraries.
Thank you in advance for your time in addressing my questions.
Again. . . I really love both the RealStrat and RealGuitar plug-ins. I also want to tell you that the MIDIoverLAN CP 3 is a fine product too! It use it to "communicate" with an aging DELL Precision Workstation 650 which also houses a bunch of software sound libraries.

Quick update. . .
Just re-familiarized myself with the KS changes in Solo Mode. This is a very cool feature. I am know realizing that working with RealStrat in Solo mode with the KS changes using interval harmonies like "octave", "power chords" is getting the same results as if I was in Harmony Mode. It seems that Solo Mode offers a LOT in terms "changability". So, I can see that I will be sequencing RealStrat in Solo Mode quite frequently utilizing the KS changes.
Still, I'm not able to change from Solo Mode to Chord mode using the automation function (latch, write, etc) in LogicPro 8 from within the plug-in itself. But, as I said in the original post, it can easily be done using Hyperdraw with the automation.
Right now, for me it is a matter of developing a work-flow system whenever I sequence RealStrat stuff with LogicPro 8. It would be "icing on the cake" to be able to automate more parameters from within RealStrat (or using midi-control changes using the Keystation Pro 88 ) when using Logic's Automation functions. But having the KS functions within Solo Mode will make sequencing sooooo much easier when wanting a lot of control over sound changes.
Again. . . as I spend more time learing and experimenting with RealStrat, the more I appreciate the quality program that MusicLab has developed!
Any thoughts, suggestions, comments, ideas and/or sharing know bugs regarding RealStrat and LogicPro 8 would be welcomed.

Ted,
Thanks for kind words about RealStrat. Hope you'll be even more enthusiastic when you are deep in all features
You are right - write automation from RS to Logic currently doesn't work (as VSTi/DXi in Cubase/Sonar, etc.. works fine). We'll surely add that in future update.
Thinking about 'MIDI learn' function to automated parameters
