I installed the 2 demos (MoL and Velomaster), with last 1-08 mfx wrapper installed.
1) First I tried to use Velomaster with one of my vst instruments (Garritan Personal Orchestra, which is 8 midi channel) inside Cubase SX, and on a single channel, as an insert, it works fine.
BUT if I assign Velomaster to another GPO track/channel, strange things happen : as soon as Velomaster is enabled on this 2nd track, I lose this current track's sound, and instead I get the sound of another GPO's track/channel (as far as I can say, it's the sound of the 1st track's instrument I assigned Vel Master to)..... as if Velomaster was in fact ignoring the midi channel/track it is assigned to, and was in fact only able to route the midi FX to the 1st track/channel....
Very weird.
2) if I insert VelMaster on a track with midi output set to to my 2nd Gigastudio PC, as soon as the VelMaster is enabled, the gig. (which was playing O.K untill then) suddenly gives a kind of muted/stopped/staccato sound. I tried this with different gigs from different libraries, and the same problem arises with each of them, so it's not a Gig's programming issue......
-----
It's quite a pity, because VelMaster's interface and settings are great and would complement the rather basic SX's midi "comp" very well. But those 2 issues make it almost useless for me.
-----
So, am I to suppose that this is again a problem due to the fact that the mfx format and Cubase are not very good friends.... ?
Thanks to MusicLab support for any information.
--------
PS : about support, I do not know if it's because of a hard work to get this RealGuitar thing finished, but the lack of response here becomes quite scary :
- I emailed you about 2 months ago to get some information about MoL, and am still waiting for it...
- I posted 2 days ago a simple question on MoL forum, and still no reply.
-----
It makes me a bit hesitating to buy new products from Musiclab (after having expected during more than one year a VST RnC update which will in fact never come), because in case of problem, I wonder how many centuries it would take to see them fixed. |

Hi Gilles,
Thanks for information.
I've just tried VeloMaster in Cubase SX 1.05.
Worked OK in Inserts of a MIDI track with output to:
1. MIDI synth (internal computer soft module)
2. VSTi (Dr-008 drum sampler).
<Velomaster was in fact ignoring the midi channel/track it is assigned to>
I never tried VM with multi-channel VSTi in Cubase SX, but think that's the problem of Cubase handling MFX plugins. I will test this ASAP.
Regards,
